NEIGHBOURING FISHERMANS BEND
MELBOURNE'S FUTURE GROWTH STORY
On the doorstop of Yarra’s Edge, Fishermans Bend is playing a vital role in Melbourne’s future evolution. The 480ha site, more than twice the size of Melbourne’s CBD, is Australia’s largest renewal site and is anticipated to deliver significant new residential, commercial, transport and community facilities.
As Fishermans Bend develops, Yarra’s Edge too is expected to benefit from the economic growth that will be delivered to this precinct. To find out more about the Fishermans Bend Story, click here.
A MAJOR EMPLOYMENT PRECINCT
The Fishermans Bend commercial precinct is expected to attract international and national employers; boutique firms; and start-ups with plans to grow. A cutting-edge engineering education facility is planned for the precinct, as well as new retail, dining and entertainment facilities. Together, these are expected to create 80,000 job opportunities for locals and the wider Melbourne community.
8,000SQM COMMUNITY PARK
Montague Park is expected to deliver 8,000sqm of open space to Fishermans Bend and its neighbours. The beautifully landscaped park is proposed to provide lawns, shade, footpaths, seating and lighting. To meet residents’ needs, plans for the park features are being developed with the community.
SOUTH MELBOURNE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Education is reaching new heights for Yarra’s Edge residents with the recent opening of the South Melbourne Primary School, only 2.4kms away and within the catchment zone for Yarra’s Edge residents. The school operates from a multi-purpose building that shares space with community facilities.
