SCULPTURAL TOWER REDEFINES DOCKLANDS

Sculpted out of concrete, steel and glass, Forge is the latest striking tower to grace Yarra’s Edge by Mirvac and heralds a new direction in flexible and innovative design not seen before in the precinct’s previous towers.

The essence of the new and the innovative has been captured in the tower’s name. Forge is derived from the wharfside identity that helped shape Melbourne’s waterfront, with Forge reflecting a new direction in luxury apartment living on the water at Yarra’s Edge.

Rising 100 metres from the ground, the 30 level building reflects the fluidity of the nearby water through its gently curving façade that results in a strong sculptural statement along the waterfront.

With a range of views that encompass the water, bright lights of the CBD and Port Phillip Bay to the south, Forge represents the last chance to grab a piece of Yarra’s Edge waterfront living, in the world’s most liveable city.

“What most of the world’s best cities have in common is that they embrace waterside living. Whether it is overlooking Sydney Harbour, views of the Hudson River from Manhattan or glimpses of the Pacific from Malibu, waterside living is a lifestyle and a status symbol,” said Mirvac Group Executive, Residential, John Carfi.

“Forge captures waterfront living in its light, nautical silver façade, stunning aspects and generous communal share spaces such as the cinema and dining rooms with breathtaking views to the lights of the CBD.”

A building with dual personality, the river side of Forge is superbly finished in glass, while the south side brings a strong urban element that integrates into the cosmopolitan environment of nearby bayside Port Melbourne.

Residents first experience inside Forge is via a grand lobby that features an aquarium reflecting the Yarra River ecosystem. Recycled wharf timbers and copper highlights lead into the north-facing resident’s lounge which features a fireplace, leather accents and overlooks the Wharf Club, Wharf’s Landing park, and the river.

The top six floors offer a mix of premium one, two and three bedroom Sky Residence apartments, with a mix of unique artist’s studios, loft apartments, and one, two and three bedroom apartments throughout the rest of the building. Combined, the building offers a range of options for buyers across multiple demographics, which is expected to enhance the makeup of the Yarra’s Edge community when completed.

Residents are also well catered for with a bookable private kitchen and dining area, as well as a cinema – all with views for miles.

“Forge is a building with attitude, heritage and sophistication,” said Carfi.

“It is designed to foster a community of diverse residents who appreciate and want to embrace waterside living at Melbourne’s newest waterfront precinct.”
